Gov. Dauda Lawal of Zamfara has directed the total renovation, expansion, and equipping of the Dansadau Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in Maru Local Government Area of the state.

This is contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Gusau by the Information and Public Relations Officer of the state Ministry of Health, Sulaiman Isah.

According to the statement, the governor also ordered the provision of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities at the centre as part of efforts to strengthen primary healthcare delivery in the state.

It said the directive was given during an inspection visit to the facility, where Gov. Lawal assessed its condition and interacted with health workers.

The governor emphasised that his administration remained committed to prioritising public health and improving access to quality healthcare, particularly at the grassroots level.

He noted that the renovation and expansion of the PHC would enhance service delivery, ensuring that residents of Dansadau and surrounding communities receive improved healthcare services.

Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Nafisa Maradun, commended the governor for his dedication to public health, describing the directive as a demonstration of the government’s commitment to revitalising healthcare infrastructure across Zamfara.

She added that the governor’s visit and approval for the full renovation and equipping of the facility reflected ongoing efforts to strengthen primary healthcare centres and improve health outcomes for residents of the state.
