A 46-year old man, Adesola Adedeji, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, over an alleged N3 million visa fraud.
Adedeji, whose address was not provided, is being charged with stealing and obtaining money under false pretence, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, ASP Musbau Lawal, told the court that the defendant committed the offence at about 4.00p.m on Jan. 25, at Oluyole Estate, Ibadan.
Lawal alleged that the defendant obtained the money from the complainant, Damilola Ademola, with the pretext of procuring a Luxemburg visa for her.
The prosecutor said that the defendant who could not procure the visa, converted the money to his personal use.
He said that the offence contravened Sections 419 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mr Olaolu Olanipekun granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million, with one reliable surety in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Feb. 2, 2026, for hearing.
