Prince Idris Balogun, Chairman of the Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), said his administration has rehabilitated more than four roads and empowered 300 artisans within its first 100 days in office.
Balogun, who disclosed this on Thursday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), noted that the rehabilitation of strategic roads had been his major priority since assumption of office.
He said that his administration had also embarked on the provision of working tools and training for artisans and youths.o9
He explained that the council was focusing on scholarships and free uniforms for students, support for persons with disabilities, and expanded community services.
He added that the administration had pledged to sustain these efforts in order to ensure a governance model that was resident-focused, inclusive, and transformative.
The chairman stated that his 100-Day-in-Office Programme was more than a milestone, describing it as a vivid testament to leadership that blended vision with action.
Balogun said that traditional rulers, market leaders, community stakeholders, and party chieftains had gathered to witness a narrative of progress that, which he noted, had placed Egbe-Idimu firmly on the national map of honour.
He remarked that within just 100 days, aspirations had been revived, hope rekindled, and a brighter path illuminated for all.
The chairman further said that the council leadership had already etched a legacy as bold and enduring as rivers carving through a valley of stone, transforming hope into tangible progress for every resident of the community.
He added that the impact of the administration’s efforts had been immediate and far-reaching, noting that more than 300 artisans who had previously been constrained by limited resources had received vocational tools.
He said that the council had distributed free sewing machines, dryers, generators, industrial ovens, and clippers, empowering the beneficiaries to build brighter futures.
“In just a hundred days, aspirations have been revived, hope rekindled, and a brighter path illuminated for all.
“We distributed free sewing machines, dryers, generators, industrial ovens, and clippers, like gardeners handed shovels to cultivate fertile soil, empowering them to shape brighter futures.
“Financial empowerment also took centre stage, as 500 residents each received ₦100,000, igniting entrepreneurial sparks and household relief that promised to light up local commerce,”he said
