Gov. Umaru Bago, of Niger has approved the immediate dissolution of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), including the office of the Secretary to the Board.
This is contained in a statement issued on Friday in Minna by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman.
The governor said the dissolution was part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to reposition and strengthen the education sector for greater efficiency, accountability and improved service delivery.
He also directed all members of the dissolved board, including the Secretary, to hand over all official documents, assets and responsibilities to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
He appreciated the outgoing board members and the Secretary for their service and contributions to the development of basic education in the state.
Bago also wished them success in their future endeavours.
