The Commissioner of Police in Kano State,Mr Ibrahim Bakori, on Thursday urged the officers deployed to Shanono and Tsanyawa LGAs to remain resolute in their mission to safeguard the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, in Kano on Thursday.
Bakori made the remarks while inspecting the security deployments in the two border local government areas.
The tour followed directives from the Inspector‑General of Police (I-G), Mr Kayode Egbetokun, to dominate public spaces against all criminal threats and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property in the state.
The visit came after recent incidents of abduction and cattle rustling, believed to have been carried out by suspected migrating bandits from neighbouring states.
The visit also followed the reinforcement of security in the area with additional manpower and equipment.
During the tour, Bakori inspected the deployment of personnel as well as equipment and commended the Joint Task Force (JTF) for its efforts.
He urged the officers to remain vigilant and dedicated to their duty.
Assuring the residents of the command’s continued efforts to guarantee safety, Bakori said: “We are committed to protecting the people of Kano State.
“We urge the citizens to continue reporting suspicious activities and to cooperate with us in combating crime.”
The police chief thanked the state government, the Chairmen of the affected local governments and community members for their support and cooperation, saying that collaboration.was essential for maintaining peace and security.
“Your prayers, understanding and prompt reporting of security concerns have been invaluable,” he added.
Bakori said that the command remained resolute in its mission to safeguard the state, and the visit underscored the command’s determination to stay ahead of emerging security challenges
