An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded a 42- year- old man, Emmanuel Egbosimba in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly defiling his 19- year-old daughter.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr L. A. Owolabi, who did not take the plea of the defendant, order that the case file should be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
Owalabi adjourned the case until Nov. 17 for hearing.
The Prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence from when the victim was 14- year-old until Aug. 23, 2025.
Ademigbuji said that the defendant resides at 29B, Olusesi Close, Ile Ewe in Ejigbo area of Lagos.
He alleged that the defendant had been sexually abusing his 19- year-old daughter since his wife died.
The prosecutor said that all efforts for the victim to free herself from her father failed as he allegedly threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone.
The prosecutor said that the victim went to the police station to report and the defendant was arrested.
The prosecutor also said that the victim told the police that the defendant had sexually abused her almost every day.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 260 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
