FC Barcelona have reportedly expressed growing concern over the current off-field behaviour of their player, Lamine Yamal, following what has been described as “immature” public remarks and online activity.
According to The Nation Nigeria, the club fears Yamal’s conduct could attract an unnecessary controversy, create rivalry, and bring unwanted attention to the team.
In response, Barcelona and Yamal’s agent, Jorge Mendes, are said to be monitoring the youngster’s social media use and public appearances more closely to prevent further issues.
The 18-year-old, who has been one of Barcelona’s best players, has recently drawn uninspiring headlines not just for his performances on the pitch but also for his personality off it.
Neither Barcelona nor Yamal has issued an official statement addressing the report.
