Iconic Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan on Sunday defeated Abia Warriors FC 2–0, to move to the second position on 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table.
The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that 3SC dominated proceedings in the Matchday 9 game played at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba in Ibadan.
Ayobami Junior opened scoring for the hosts in the 20th minute of the encounter after an attempt by Adegoke Abiodun with a powerful strike.
Shooting Stars made a significant change in the 45th minute as Qamar Adegoke came on to replace Sodiq Ibrahim to boost the attacking line.
Abia Warriors came close to getting an equaliser in the 57th minute of the game but the ball went over the post.
Coach Nurudeen Aweroro made double substitution for 3SC in the 60th minute as Ayodele Ismail Adams Mustapha came on for Ayobami Junior and Awosanmi Promise.
NAN reports that the victory pushed the Oluyole Warriors to second position on the log with 15 points from nine matches behind Nassarawa United with 19 points from nine matches.
