The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KW-SUBEB) in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Abuja, is set for another round of training for teachers in the state.
In a statement issued in Ilorin on Friday, the Chairman of KW-SUBEB, Prof. Sheu Adaramaja, said that 224 Early Childhood Care Development Education (ECCDE) teachers and 240 heads of Universal Basic Education (UBE) schools have been selected for the training.
He said that the 10-day training, tagged “Early Childhood Care Development Education,” has two sub-themes: “Effective Implementation of ECCDE Curriculum Policies” and “Effective School Management Skills for Enhancing Quality Basic Education Delivery.”
Adaramaja, who doubles as Dean of SUBEB Chairmen in Nigeria, further stated that the training was scheduled to run in two phases: from Sept. 29 to Oct. 3, and from Oct. 6 to Oct. 10.
The SUBEB chairman thanked Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara for approving the training.
According to him, the training is part of the administration’s strategic drive to strengthen the basic education sector by ensuring the capacity development of teachers with skills and knowledge.
He said that a total of 464 teachers drawn from the 16 Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs) in the state will participate in the training.
