The Ogun Assembly Service Commission has assured workers of the commission and the House of Assembly of its readiness to collaborate with the Civil Service Commission in the state in achieving the government’s set goals.
Mr Suraj Adekunbi, the Chairman, gave the assurance in Abeokuta on Wednesday at the induction and training program for newly recruited officers in the commission.
Adekunbi, a former Speaker of Ogun House of Assembly, said that the collaboration was imperative in order to ensure synergy between the legislative and executive arms of government.
He enjoined the officers to justify their recruitment into the service by being dedicated and committed to the growth of the state.
According to the chairman, many applied for the jobs, but the inductees were the few selected, hence, the need for them to contribute their quota meaningfully well to the commission and the state at large.
“Indeed, it is an opportunity for you to be a staff of the commission; you need to contribute your expertise and knowledge to the growth and development of the state,” he said.
Adekunbi applauded Gov. Dapo Abiodun for the approval for both the recruitment and induction of the new officers, noting that it was a blessing to the executive and legislative arms.
In his remarks, the Head of Service, Mr Kehinde Onasanya, enjoined the inductees to imbibe culture of accountability and transparency in service.
“You have been called into a noble job that needs total dedication, you must be well guided by the books and see your employment as a call to service and duty,” Onasanya said.
In her contribution, Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Establishment and Training, Mrs Lydia Fajounbo, admonished the new officers to abide by the rules and regulations.
She added that there were various rules to guide them in the service for effective performance such as civil service, public service and financial regulation rules.
