Military-civilian partnership formed to tackle road accidents

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has pledged its support to the Zamfara command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). The aim is to reduce road crashes in the state. This partnership was formalized during a courtesy visit to the FRSC Zamfara Sector Command in Gusau on Wednesday.

The visit was seen as a significant step to strengthen the existing working relationship between the two agencies. The FRSC is expected to leverage the discipline and operational capacity of the NAF to enhance its enforcement and public awareness campaigns.

This new alliance marks a significant effort to improve public safety. It promises to enhance road discipline and provide a strong boost to the ongoing fight against accidents in Zamfara.

The commander said that personnel of the Corps were always clearing obstructions, sensitizing the public on the proper use of the highway and rescuing crash victims.
“Hence we solicit for continuous collaboration in the areas of Drivers’ training among other means, to reduce road traffic fatality and injury, ” he said.
In his remark, the FRSC Sector Commander, Mr. Aliyu Ma’aji expressed delight over the visit.
He said that his door remained opened to the commander, assuring him of maximum cooperation needed to achieve zero road traffic crashes in the state.
Highlight of the visit was presentation of souvenir to the commander 207 Quick Response of the Nigerian Air force, Gusau.
