A Lagos State Chief Magistrates’ Court in Badagry has sentenced Annex Salisu, a 22-year-old man, to four years in prison for stealing and vandalising transformer parts.

The Chief Magistrate, Nurudeen Layeni, sentenced Salisu after he pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of felony and stealing. Layeni said the convict would serve his jail term at the Badagry Correctional Centre.

During trial, the prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo told the Court that Salisu committed the offences at about 9.30p.m on July 28, 2025, at Church-Gate, along Badagry Expressway.
Ekpo said that Salisu stole and vandalised transformer cables, cover and nuts valued N10 million, belonging to Century Dye and Chemical Ltd.
He said that offences contravened Sections 287, 173, 175 and 235 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.
