Ekiti wins silver in gymnastics at Asaba 2025 NYG

Ekiti State has won a silver medal in gymnastics at the ongoing National Youth Games (NYG) in Asaba.

The state’s gymnast, Adesuyan, clinched the silver medal after a thrilling performance. The State Head Coach of Gymnastics, Seun Awokunle, expressed his delight with the performance, saying that Adesuyan displayed unique skills and composure to win the medal.

The NYG is being held in Asaba from August 26 to September 6.

“I am so delighted with the performance of Adesuyan. He is calm, ready to learn, and shows composure during the game.

“I am so proud of him and I believe he is going to win gold in the 10th edition National Youths Games,” he said.

Similarly, the Technical Advisor to the Governor on Sports Development, Olusola Osetoba, congratulated the young gymnast for making the state proud by winning silver in Gymnastics.

Osetoba commended Adesuyan’s coach for giving him adequate training to excel among his counterparts from other states.

She encouraged other athletes from Ekiti to emulate the success trend of the duo of Precious Ayodele and Ayodele Adesuyan, who had won silver medals in different games at the festival.

“I want to encourage Team Ekiti, especially our athletes, that are still competing in various games to try their best and emulate the success of Precious Ayodele and Ayodele Adesuyan.

” I am aware the competition has been very challenging for our athletes but with their determination, I believe Ekiti will emerge victorious in all our games,” she said.

NAN reports that Ekiti male and female Basketball players had qualified for the quarter finals and the matches would be played on Wednesday.
