The African Democratic Party (ADC) in Adamawa is united and has disowned a purported four-man committee circulating on social media.
In a statement issued on Tuesday after a State Executive Committee meeting in Yola, ADC’s Publicity Secretary, Mr Kussiy Thakur, stated that the party’s structure, from the ward to the state level, remained solidly behind the leadership of Hon. Shehu Kambile and the State Working Committee.
He stated that the party structure from the ward to the state level remains solidly behind the leadership of Hon. Shehu Kambile and the State Working Committee.
“We wish to inform the general public, our teeming members, and the media that the State Executive Committee (SEC) has established that a certain four-man committee purportedly set up is illegitimate and unrecognised.
“The individuals named in the circulation are not card-carrying members of the ADC in Adamawa State.
“Consequently, the Adamawa State Executive Committee unequivocally and categorically distances itself from the said committee and its activities,” he stated.
According to him, the party at the state level is working tirelessly and in harmony with the national leadership to advance the core vision and mission of the ADC.
“The core vision and mission of ADC, which is to provide credible, people-focused leadership and good governance for the people of Adamawa State and Nigeria at large.
“We are fully committed to strengthening our membership, preparing for future elections, and upholding the democratic ideals upon which our party was founded,” he stated.
The party urged the public, supporters, media houses and all stakeholders to disregard any information not emanating from the officially recognised channels.
He also advised the public to always seek clarification and confirmation directly from the state chapter
