Super Falcons remain Africa’s best in new FIFA ranking

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have retained their position as the best women’s national team in Africa, according to the latest FIFA rankings released on thursday. with a total of 1630 points, the team holds a commanding lead over the rest of the continent, though they remain ranked 36th globally.

The rankings highlight a significant gap between the best in Africa and the world’s elite. world champions Spain top the global list with 2066 points, closely followed by the U.S. with 2065 points. Sweden is third with 2025 points, while Euro champions England are fourth with 2022 points.

On the African continent, South Africa is a distant second, ranked 54th in the world with 1,465 points, underscoring the Super Falcons’ continued dominance within the region.

Women’s Africa Cup of Nations finalists and hosts, Morocco are third place with 1,407 point and 64th place in the world while Zambia are fourth with 1,402 points, and 65th at the global stage.

The next edition of the rankings will be published on Dec. 11.
