Dr Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the Nasarawa House of Assembly, has called on youths in Nigeria to embrace moral values and discipline for the country’s development.
The speaker gave the charge on monday at the 2025 annual fellowship camp of the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, Nasarawa chapter, in Keffi Local Government Area. The camp brought together approximately 3,250 youths who are undergoing training focused on instilling discipline and moral values.
Jatau said that inculcation of moral values and discipline on the younger generations would not only promote peace, unity in the country but also promote national development.
He commended the officials of the organisation for the training of the younger generations and called for its sustenance.
“My presence here is to encourage you and urge you to continue to be good ambassadors of Christ where ever you find yourselves.
“If every one wil inculcate moral values on the younger generations, the society will be better for it,” he said
The speaker donated a car to the organisation for its smooth activities.
“This donation is to show my appreciation so that you can perform your duties very well and without difficulties,” he said
Earlier, Mr Akolo Success-Ahmed, the state President of Boys Brigade, said it was not just a youth organisation, but a movement of discipline, character- building and service.
“Our mission is to instil the fear of God in young men, raising them as responsible citizens who will stand as lights in their families, communities and society at large.
“By the Grace of God, the boys brigade in Nasarawa has continued to produce men and women of integrity, who had contributed positively in different spheres of life,” he said.
The organisation’s president appealed for mobility, secretariat, land for agricultural project and camp ground.
