The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) is embarking on a new phase of digital transformation, adopting digital communication and automation to modernize operations and boost public service delivery. The announcement was made by Dr. Afiz Ogun, the agency’s director-general, during the 17th ITF management retreat held in Jos on Monday.
According to a statement released by Mr. Thomas Ngor, the head of press and public affairs, this move is part of a broader strategic effort to leverage technology and streamline processes. This initiative coincides with the agency’s recent success in securing approval from City & Guilds of London as a certified international examination center, a development that further highlights the ITF’s commitment to providing world-class, tech-driven training and services to Nigerians.

The DG, in his keynote address, themed “Developing Effective Strategies for Skill-Up Artisans (SUPA) Implementation: Opportunities and Challenges,” outlined policies to improve skills development while enhancing personnel efficiency, work processes and staff welfare
According to the DG, the move marked the beginning of a fully automated internal communication system.
“In our pursuit of excellence, we are adopting digital tools to enhance efficiency and reduce reliance on paper-based processes,” he said.
“With immediate effect, internal and interdepartmental memos, along with official correspondence, would be transmitted electronically; a shift expected to improve response times, ensure accurate documentation, and boost collaboration.
“This is a bold step towards building a modern, forward-thinking institution ready to meet the demands of a dynamic global economy.”
Ogun/also revealed that the ITF was digitising and archiving all records from 2019 onward to improve accessibility and operational efficiency
