The Osun Mastermind (TOM), a civil society organization in Osun, has advised the Osun House of Assembly, headed by Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, to complete abandoned projects within the Assembly complex.
The Executive Director of TOM, Prof. Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli, made the call in its 2025 August state of the state address to newsmen on Friday in Osogbo.
Oyedokun-Alli said that the Assembly Quarters, which ought to house lawmakers and provide necessary comfort for them to carry out their legislative duties was currently seeking attention.
He said the abandonment of the Assembly gate on the major road was also worrisome, being the entrance into the premises of a vital arm of government.
“We are wondering how the state assembly has provided shelter for its members in the last two years despite spending scarce state resources on monetising accommodation for its members .
” It has been two years since renovation and reconstruction work commenced on the Assembly gate and the quarters, but till date, none of the projects have been completed, ” the director said.
Oyedokun-Alli further underscored the need for leadership of the assembly to ensure accountability to avoid public ridicule of the legislature.
He said that all projects within the complex need to be completed speedily for posterity sake.
Speaking on the ongoing road constructions in parts of the state, Oyedokun-Alli called on the state government to considered the rehabilitation of Ibokun Imesi Ile road and the Ila Orangun road.
He said the two roads have become death traps endangering the lives of the people of the state.
” It become imperative that the state government finishes roads under construction across the state for convenience sake .
” Such roads includes the Iwo- Ibadan road earlier embarked upon and not leaving out the Ilesa township road, ” he said .
According to him, roads are important part of any societal development and it also has direct impact on the lives of the people.
