Anambra ready for Nigeria beach soccer league round two—Official

The Anambra Beach Soccer Association (ABSA) has announced that all is set for the second round of the Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL), which is scheduled to kick off in Nnewi on August 21. In a statement made on Monday in Awka, the director of media for ABSA, Okwudili Awam, assured that the event would be a major success.

The league matches will be held at the beach soccer stadium within the Nnewi High School premises. A total of eight clubs are confirmed to participate, including the host team, the Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors, alongside Kebbi Fishers, Ibom, Nmako Patigi, Kada, Kebbi United, Jigawa Golden Stars, and Niger.

Awam expressed excitement about hosting the event, stating that the state is ready to welcome beach soccer lovers from across the country. The event is expected to be a spectacle of athleticism and sportsmanship, further boosting the profile of beach soccer in the southeast region

“Preparation is in top gear for the smooth hosting of the 2025 National Beach Soccer League, and I can assure you that Anambra is ready

“The league is going to have eight teams in two groups, and it will be held between Aug. 21 and 23.

“We had a good hosting in 2024, and it can be better and bigger this time around,” he said.

Awam said ABSA was inviting members of the public, especially corporate organizations, for partnership while urging sports writers to ensure good coverage.
