The Association of Table Water Producers of Nigeria (ATWAP) in Ogun State has urged governments at all levels to create an enabling environment to help the industry thrive.
Mr Babatunde Lawal, Chairman of ATWAP in Ogun, made the appeal during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Ota.
He called for improved infrastructure, favorable policies, and financial support to boost operations and ensure the consistent availability of potable water. Lawal also emphasized the need for stricter regulations on factories and greenhouse gas emissions to safeguard the long-term sustainability of water resources.
Highlighting the challenges facing Nigeria in providing safe drinking water, he urged the adoption of sustainable water management practices and adherence to international best standards among members to build a stronger and healthier water industry.
