Musician and producer, Olatunde Obajeun, is set to release a new album. The new child of his elastic talent, titled OBA, a dramatic acronym of  ‘Oneness. Balance. Awakening. is unique in the sense that it departs from popular genres like afrobeats. It boasts 10 tracks that Obajeun believes will strike the right cord in the ears and souls of lovers of good music.

According to the artiste, who also recently opened a new studio at Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, Lagos, the new album gives the audience something fresh, even as he in some parts recreates old brands like highlife and afro beat.

He says, “Oneness, Balance, Awakening” (OBA) is a project that delves into the profound sonification of sound, weaving Yoruba native folklore with rich sonic textures. Blending tradition with innovation, the project embraces what I call Neo-Afro Fusion— a unique fusion of ancestral rhythms and contemporary expression, exploring cultural resonance, spiritual balance, and artistic awakening .”

In a chat with ‘Phenomenal.com.ng’, Obajeum  adds, “There is a new sound I want to push out. Not afro or highlife but a fusion of all the older sounds. I want to push out something  new from the old, something different. Our airwaves are saturated with afrobeats; so, I want people to hear something very different from what they are used to.”
