The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Air Force’s dedication to enhancing the welfare of its retired personnel.
Speaking on Saturday at the 2025 Mid-Year CAS Parley with Veterans in Lagos, Abubakar, represented by AVM Ahmed Bakari, emphasized that the welfare of veterans remains a priority, acknowledging their decades of loyal service to the natio
The CAS noted that many veterans possess vital technical skills which could help address national security challenges.
“Retirement does not erase those skills. They can still make meaningful contributions to the society,” he added.
Abubakar said the parley helps veterans reconnect and understand citizens’ sentiments through open interactions.
He also noted that the forum enables the NAF to conduct medical outreaches for veterans and their dependants.
He expressed satisfaction with the turnout of retired personnel and the quality of feedback received during the event.
He urged them to stay active, collaborate with peers, and maintain meaningful social networks.
“If on medication, they should adhere strictly and adapt their lifestyles to stay physically and mentally fit,” he advised.
