The police on Thursday arraigned a 22-year-old man, Michael Jacob, before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for allegedly receiving a stolen phone.

Jacob, whose address was not disclosed, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Prosecutor, ASP Musbau Lawal, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on June 4 at about 1:40 p.m. in the Sabo area of Ibadan.

Lawal said the defendant received an iPhone worth N110, 000, knowing that the phone was stolen.

He said the offence contravened Section 427 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mr Olaolu Olanipekun granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until Aug. 5 for mention.
