Senator Mukhail Abiru (APC-Lagos East) has reaffirmed his commitment to education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development in his constituency.
Abiru made this known on Tuesday during the inauguration and official handover of five completed projects in Igbogbo Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu, Lagos.
The projects include the full reconstruction of the one-kilometer Agunfoye Road with proper drainage and the construction of a new Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Igbe Laara.
The senator assured residents that he would continue to deliver people-focused projects aimed at improving living standards and fostering development across Lagos East.
The projects were handed over to Mr Olusesan Daini, Chairman, Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, for the use of residents.
Abiru, represented by Mrs Adebimpe Akinsola, former member, Lagos State House of Assembly (LSHA), Ikorodu Constituency 2, said that the projects reflected his commitment to people-focused and impactful representation.
“These interventions are not just about infrastructure, they are about restoring dignity, improving access and creating opportunity.
“The projects are a major boost to grassroots development,” he said.
The lawmaker urged the community to take full ownership of the facilities, stressing the importance of maintenance and sustainability for future generations.
He urged the residents to ensure proper use and management of the newly-delivered assets.
Residents, community and APC leaders in Igbogbo-Baiyeku, commended Sen. Abiru for his leadership and performance since he was elected to represent Lagos East in the Senate.
In his remarks at the inauguration of the Methodist Primary School, the Traditional Ruler of Ibeshe, Oba Richard Ogunsanya, expressed gratitude to Abiru for providing desired leadership across the district.
Earlier, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, a former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, represented by Mr Gbolahan Ogunleye, Member, LSHA, Ikorodu constituency 1, said the senatorial district was proud of the senator’s performance.
Earlier, Mr Adesegun Ogunlewe, former Lagos State Head of Service and others, eulogised Abiru as a silent performer, whose good works were speaking for him.
Present at the inauguration at Igbogbo were the Traditional Ruler, Oba Semiudeen Kasali,(Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom); Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, and Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe respectively.
Abiru stressed that his commitment to delivering impactful projects across all 16 local councils and local community development authorities of Lagos East Senatorial District are also obvious in Epe division.
He said Epe division, which includes Ibeju Lekki, Lekki, Eredo, Ikosi Ejirin and Epe, had been a significant beneficiary of his development strides.
“I recently delivered health centres and blocks of classrooms to the coastal communities in Lekki LCDA.
“My Media Aide, Mr Enitan Olukotun, ensured that the projects inaugurated were transferred to the residents of Lekki LCDA under the leadership of the Chairman, Mr Rasaq Kasali.
“Also inaugurated are a newly constructed and fully-equipped Primary Health Centre in Akodo-Ise and a rehabilitated and upgraded health centre in Folu community.
“In addition, I rehabilitated and fully furnished classroom blocks at Lepia Primary School and Olomowewe Primary School which were also delivered to the local government authority,” Abiru said.
He highlighted other projects as including modern markets, youth centres and an ongoing SAIL Innovation Lab and Sports Complex in Orimedu, Ibeju-Lekki.
The lawmaker assured that these facilities would become a hub for digital and sports talent development.
