President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, is in high spirits as the guild is set to launch a mobile app.
It will also open its national secretariat to enhance the guild’s operational capacity, administrative structure and national presence.
Rollas disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Lagos.
Rollas said the secretariat which would be inaugurated on June 28, would attract stakeholders from across Nollywood, government officials, digital partners and the media.
He disclosed that the guild would also unveil its mobile app, which is poised to achieve a major digital transformation journey for its stakeholders.
“This is not just about an app or an office; it’s about building a future-ready AGN.
“We are giving our members digital access and recognition, while opening our doors to the world through innovation, accountability and collaboration.
“The AGN mobile app reflects our desire to not just reform our operations internally but also to build a stronger connection between the industry and the people who love Nollywood.
“It’s our digital handshake to the world,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the mobile application is designed to revolutionise how Nigerian actors interact with the guild, manage their careers and connect with fans.
The app will also open up a channel for fans and public to engage with Nollywood stars in a secure, meaningful and transparent way.
Some of the benefits include serving as a digital resource hub for news, auditions, events, training and opportunities within the Nigerian film industry.
Others are: access to behind-the-scenes features, event highlights, red carpet moments, digital meet-and-greet among others.
