Bishop Charles Ighele, General Superintendent of the Holy Spirit Mission, has called for strong government decisions to end the ongoing killings in Benue State.
Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Lagos, Ighele expressed sympathy with the people of Benue and stressed that only firm and deliberate actions could bring an end to the bloodshed.

” For example, revival of the economy needs political and economic solutions.
“Absence of a culture of civilised behaviour among the people need a social solution.
“The constant Benue killings and similar killings in other places need a political decision that can only be made by political leaders,” he said.
He said that a major step in the right direction to ending the killings would be apprehending suspects and prosecuting them.
He said that religious bodies would need to pray that actions and decisions which would end the killings should be taken.
He added that religious organisations should offer humanitarian services to the survivors.
