The Nigerian Army has promised to strengthen collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service to improve border security.
This assurance came from Maj.-Gen. Farouk Mijinyawa, General Officer Commanding 81 Division, in a statement issued Friday by the Division’s spokesperson, Lt.-Col. Musa Yahaya.
Mijinyawa stressed the importance of joint operations to curb smuggling, arms trafficking, and other cross-border threats that undermine national safety.
He stressed that sustained collaboration between both agencies would aid anti-smuggling efforts and foster a safer environment conducive to economic development.
Similarly, the Comptroller of Customs, Federal Operations Unit Zone “A”, Comptroller Muhammad Shuaibu, appreciated the Division’s continued support and cooperation.
Shuaibu noted that the Division’s officers have played a vital role in strengthening the effectiveness of Customs enforcement activities.
