The Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Mohammed, has emphasized the importance of cooperation between farmers and herders to ensure a peaceful and prosperous farming season in the state.

Mohammed made the call during his visit to the Kafanchan Area Command on Saturday, where he addressed local stakeholders, urging them to work together for the betterment of the region. He stressed that fostering mutual understanding and harmony was crucial as the rainy season begins.

In line with the objectives of Governor Uba Sani and the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed underlined the significance of everyone coming together to promote peaceful coexistence, ensuring a smooth agricultural process and contributing to the overall well-being of the community.

“I charge you all to shun all tendencies that have the capacity of causing any breach of peace as the farming season begins,” he stated.

The police commissioner also encouraged communities in the area to form peace committees to constantly discuss ways to forestall unwholesome developments.

He noted that God did not make a mistake by keeping people together irrespective of their differences, urging them to uphold the sanctity of life.

Mohammed stressed the need for people to create an enabling environment for the state government’s efforts at wooing investors to materialise by promoting peace at all times.

In his remarks, Mr Peter Tanko, the Executive Chairman of Jemaa Local Government Area, appreciated the commissioner for his peace building efforts in the area.

Tanko reiterated the council’s commitment to leaving no stone unturned in the pursuit of peace.

A cross section of other stakeholders, including religious and community leaders, harped on the need to pursue peace at all cost to increase the pace of development in the state.
