‘My Papa no be Dangote’ singer, Teni, has emphasised the God factor in music business.

She says hit songs are not the making of any artist but a gift from God.

She noted this during her appearance on WithChudeLive, a live talk concert hosted by Chude Jideonwo in Lagos.

According to her, waiting for the right time to release songs also matters but God surely has a role to play.

She said, “Music is my passion. That’s what keeps me going,” she said. “Everyone wants to be number one, but I’ve come to understand that I can’t rush the process. Hit songs come from God. I’m just a vessel He uses to deliver them.”

The ‘Uyo Meyo’ star emphasized that patience and purpose guide her artistry, rather than pressure for instant commercial success.

When asked about the origin of her hit single ‘Money,’ Teni revealed it was written years ago — long before the world heard it. “I wrote Money five years ago,” she shared. “It just wasn’t the right time to release it. I waited until I felt people needed to hear that message. When I finally dropped it, I wasn’t surprised by the reception.”

Recalling her time in Los Angeles, she added: “I was there for about three months, and I’d play the song anytime I got in an Uber. I wouldn’t say anything about it being mine, and the drivers would always compliment the song. That’s when I knew it had something special.”
