The duo of celebrated actors and filmmakers, Femi Adebayo and Lateef Adedimeji, gave a good account of themselves on Saturday night as they emerged among the biggest winners at the 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
While Adebayo’s film, ‘Seven Door’s, won two of the most coveted awards — Best Lead Actor (Femi Adebayo) and Best Lead Actress (Chioma Chukwuka) — Adedimeji’s ‘Lisabi’ emerged the Best Indigenous Film West Africa.
The award also celebrated veterans Sani Mu’azu and Nkem Owoh with the Lifetime Achievement Awards, while director Kayode Kasum took home the Trailblazer Award for his fresh, genre-defying impact on the industry.
The 11th edition of the AMVCA which took place on May 10, 2025, celebrated excellence in African film and television, bringing together the continent’s brightest stars and industry professionals.
As the evening progresses, winners across various categories are being announced, highlighting the remarkable talent and creativity within the African entertainment industry.
