Nigerian pastor, Emmanuel Irene, has expressed reservation about how women in his ministry complain about sexual harassment, saying they often lied against men.
He cited the example of a woman who complained to him that a fellow sexually arrested him, only to later turn back and said she had a nice time with the accused.
According to him, nine out of ten women who go to their pastors with claims of being sexu@lly assaulted end up being false.
In a sermon in his church, Irene said, “In this ministry, nine out of ten cases where the women came and said they were sexually assaulted ended up being false. I am not saying our opinion but by the lady’s own admission. The first few cases, I was still new in this business. I was angry. There was one of them, I called the guy and said ‘As long as I am alive I will arrest you, you will go to jail. You must go to jail. Then the guy Whatsapped evidence…The girl who claimed they assaulted her said ‘it was a nice time’. Ah ah!! why lie?
If he didn’t keep that message, he would have been in trouble.”
