Labour Party’s top brand, Peter Obi, has urged members of the Obedient Movement to pray for the soul of deceased politician, Dr Doyin Okupe.
Obi urged this as he mourned Okupe’s demise, which he described as a national loss.
He said in an statement on Friday:
“With great sadness this morning, I received the shocking news of the death of my dear elder brother, Dr. Doyin Okupe,” Obi wrote on his X handle. “His death is a profound loss – not only to his family and loved ones but to all of us. I would therefore like to urge members of the Obidient Movement and other groups to pray for the eternal repose of Dr. Okupe’s soul and to remember his family during these trying times.”
Obi prayed for Okupe’s eternal rest and offered condolences to his family, urging them to find strength in this difficult period.
