Tragedy struck this morning as a terrible traffic jam paralyzed movement on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, stretching from Wawa Bus Stop to Otedola Bridge.
I witnessed firsthand how frustrated commuters were stuck for hours, with some motorists struggling to manouevre through untarred paths, raising dust and making the situation worse.
Eyewitnesses revealed that an accident near Otedola Bridge caused the standstill. While the details of the crash remain unclear, the aftermath has left many trapped with no end in sight.
A commuter, Mr. Samuel Adeoye, who had been in traffic for over three hours, voiced his frustration, “This is frustrating. I have been here since morning, and we have barely moved. I heard there was an accident, but something should be done to ease this traffic quickly.”
Another driver, Mrs. Bola Omotosho, called for urgent action: “The government needs to do something about this road. Accidents and traffic jams happen too often here, and it’s affecting productivity.”
