Kehinde Bankole highlights lesson in Macaroni’s N500m indebtedness

Star actress, Kehinde Bankola, has expressed her perspective on the N500m debt that popular skit maker, Macaroni, is battling with.

Mr Macaroni had, days ago, shocked fans by revealing his financial struggles, prompting an outpouring of support from colleagues and followers.

In a heartfelt social media post, the comedian admitted to being burdened by debts exceeding half a billion naira, after falling victim to a scam and a failed investment between 2021 and 2022. He also acknowledged that financial recklessness and excessive generosity played a role in his predicament. The comedian revealed how the weight of his debts left him overwhelmed and that betrayal from someone he considered a close friend further destabilised him. Yet, with unwavering resilience, he gathered strength to overcome the hurdles, guided by his faith and the support of loved ones.

While Bankole has joined other colleagues to sympathise with the comedian, she believes the lesson in it is that everyone has one issue or the other they are struggling with.

He commended Macaroni for being honest with himself as well as the public.

She wrote: “This is a high level of accountability. Leadership of our own lives. So sorry to hear all you went through. I say daily, “everyone is dealing with something” May more financial, spiritual and mental healing continually lift you and all of us who may need it.”

Also in her response, social activist Rinu Oduala wrote, “So sorry about this and I can attest to your financial kindness, not recklessness. Even in the midst of all these, you will still send money. May the love in our hearts be greater than all hate.”

Political commentator, Morris Monye added, “Sorry about this. I used to share my pains too but I’m learning to hold it all in. God has given us all Grace to overcome challenges.”

On his part, ‘Jagunjagun’ producer,  Femi Adebayo, wrote, “Debo, God bless you for sharing. Your good heart came through for you my brother.”
