Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appointed the immediate past Chief Executive Officer of First Bank Nigeria, Dr Adesola Adeduntan, as the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Abiola Ajimobi Technical University, Ibadan.
The Council’s former Chairman, Professor Oye Ibidapo-Obe, had passed on in 2021.
A statement by Makinde’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, on Monday in Ibadan, said the governor also approved the appointment of nine part-time members to the Oyo State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board (Christian Wing), while reappointing Professor Ayodeji Omole as the Chairman of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Governing Council.
Mrs Titilayomi Ahmadu, Mr Idowu Adeosun, Mr Jelili Busari and Dr Teslim Adediran were appointed as members of the council.
According to the statement, the appointments were conveyed in a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Segun Ogunwuyi.
“Their appointment takes effect from April 1, 2025,” the statement read.
The newly appointed members of the Abiola Ajimobi Technical University Council include a former member of the House of Assembly, Hon Seyi Adisa; Prof. Samson Ojoawo; Dr Aminat Ahmed and Prof Mojeed Akinsola.
Similarly, Professor Kazeem Adekunle Adebiyi was appointed as the Chairman of the Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa, to serve out the term of the former Chairman, Professor Abiodun Adebowale Ojo, who died last year, while his appointment takes immediate effect.
In a related development, the governor also appointed nine Part-Time Members to work with the chairman of the Oyo State Pilgrims’ Welfare Board (Christian Wing), Bishop David Ademola Moradeyo.
The new part-time members are Pastor Biodun Popoola, Pastor Iyiola Israel, Rev. Mathew Ojo, Rev Father Alabi, Mrs Sarah Amuda, Bishop Ezekiel Adeleke, Rev. Dr Mathew Oludare, Hon. Emmanuel Akanbi and Mrs Femi Odekunle.
Their appointment takes immediate effect.
Makinde charged the new appointees to discharge their duties with commitment, dedication and loyalty to the state.
