Anambra State senator, Victor Ameh, has said that Igbos can no longer secede from Nigeria.

According to him, the Civil War has come and gone, adding that current agitations were as a result of poor management of the post-strife developments.

Ameh noted this in an interview on Tuesday on Channel Television’s ‘Political Paradigm’.

“Igbos can no longer secede. The chapter has closed,” he said.

The senator noted that successive federal governments had continued to marginalise the Igbo.

While commending the creation of the South-East Development Commission, he  urged President Bola Tinubu to strike a balance in national development.

In one of the most recent popular struggles, the Indigenous People of Biafra group led by Nnamdi Kanu has been battling for independence from Nigeria.
