Popular Islamic cleric, Sheikh Taofeek Azeez Akewugbagold, has urged missioners of the faith to forgive fuji maestro, Wasiu Ayinde, over the ‘ganu-si’ term he used to describe the way they visited him when his mother died.
Wasiu had, in a conversation, said the clerics preferred to go to his own house instead of going to the place where the mum died or his own father’s abode.
According to him, they preferred to ‘ganu si’ his own home, a saying that has become viral, with many interpreting it to mean hustling for money.
While many Yoruba Islamic clerics have slammed the musician otherwise called KI de Ultimate for the alleged insult, Akewugbagold said he, truly, should not have said so.
He, however, in a video, urged Islamic leaders to forgive him.
He noted that it would be counter-productive to curse Ayinde based on the mistake.
