Amid fears that Netflix may not be giving Nigerian film producers money for production again, popular comedian, Bright Okpocha aka Basketmouth, has accused certain filmmakers of diverting money they get from the streaming platform.
It was also, days ago, rumoured that Netflix was leaving the country but it has refuted it.
But commenting on the industry in an interview on Arise TV, Basketmouth said: “’There was a lot of money in the movie industry when these streaming platforms came in. They gave money to these producers. These producers will take the money, $1.5bn or whatever they gave them, they would use about 10% of that money to make the movie. They are listening! They cannot deny it. I cannot call names but you know yourselves”
