Renowned actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo, has said that when star singer, Davido, criticises the Nigerian system, he is only doing so on behalf of the needy as he has enough to live well.
He said this as he spoke those challenging Davido over his harsh comment on Nigeria’s economy.
The latter had cautioned African Americans against relocating to Africa, highlighting Nigeria’s challenging economic situation, which he noted was in shambles.
In a recent video on Instagram, the actor noted:
“Nigerians make una leave Davido alone about the comment he made; it’s freedom of speech and he made it in good faith. It is left for those in power to work harder to give us a better Nigeria.
We need to build a better Nigeria,” he said.
According to Kanayo, those who say Davido should apologise are missing the point.
“Some people say he should apologise. Apologise for what? He’s a Nigerian and he made his statement in good faith. Those who criticize us wants the best out of us. Davido and his family can feed well but he speaks for other Nigerians who cannot.”
