Veteran actor, Patrick Doyle, has slammed afrobeats star, Davido, for asking Nigerians in the Diaspora not to return to Nigeria, saying the economy was in a shambles.
The ‘Fall’ singer had, during a radio interview in the US, said it was not safe for the Diaspora people to return to Nigeria even in the face of the threats posed by the Donald Trump’s looming presidency.
But, like many other people who have objected to Davido’s arguably demarketing of the country, Doyle, in a post on Monday, said it was strange that the artiste, whose father has $2bn investment in Nigeria was asking people to stay away.
He wrote: “’You have to be incredibly dense to ask foreigners not to visit a country where your father has a $2 Billion power generation investment. Some persons ought to know much better.”
