Actress Ufoma McDermott has said that the strong painkillers she habitually took are responsible for the kidney disease she has been managing in the past 12 years.
According to her, she grew up with migraines, headaches and eye aches, and she felf she needed to deal with them with powerful painkillers.
The actress revealed this is an interview with Chude Jideonwo, emphasising the importance of prioritising one’s health, drawing from her experience and that of her brother, who was also diagnosed with stage 4 kidney disease.
“I grew up with migraines, headaches and eye aches, and I never wore my glasses because they made me look like a geek. I’d take painkillers for my migraine. I took strong painkillers and not the ordinary painkillers because I wanted the pain to go away.”
