Irony in fuji house as Kollington Ayinla mediates in Taye Currency-Pasuma feud
A sweet irony is playing out in the world of fuji music based on the intervention of veteran musician, Alhaji Kollington Ayinla, in the feud between younger Alabi Pasuma and Taye Currency.
In the past, it was the likes of juju superstars, King Sunny Ade and Chief Ebenezer Obey, who used to mediate between him and fuji creator, the late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister.
Athough Barrister and Kollington were friends, they tackled each other in some of their songs due to what Kollignton later described as ‘orogun owo’ – business rivalry.

Currency, in a new video in which he apologised to Pasuma, notes that Kollignton Ayinla is among those who intervened in the controversy that recently dented his relationship with Pasuma.
He says: “Good day, everyone. My name is Alhaji Taye Currency. Following the recent rumour on social media, I want to greet our people and those who love us, especially Pasuma’s supporters and the lovers of Fuji music in general.
“People who misunderstood my comments should not be angry. I sincerely apologise for what happened because people interpret words differently, and that’s what I have come to understand.
“Some individuals have misinterpreted my words as an insult to Pasuma, but I don’t see how anyone can point to anything I said as abusive. He is my boss. Arabanbi, Apesin, Oganla Fuji. We are one, so please don’t separate us.
“Alhaji Alabi Pasuma is my boss. He knows I’m loyal to him. For it not to seem disrespectful, I apologise to Pasuma. You are an elder. Thanks to Alhaji Kollington Ayinla for intervening. Thanks to the Mayegun, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde. To Pasuma’s fans club, I’m sorry; Taye Currency fans, one love. Alhaji Alao, please don’t be angry.”
