Zaazoo singer, Portable, have claimed the the music of superstar acts, Davido and Wizkid, have lost market shine.
According to him, the reason they are beefing each other is that their songs have lost vibes in the market and, so, want to attract attention to themselves.
Portable noted this against the backdrop of the renewed feud between the two giant afrobeats artistes, as sparked by Wizkids, taunting of him and his uncle – Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State.
Wizkid referred to the man as a dancing uncle.
He said in his Insta story:
“Don’t use your brother to shine, shine yourself,” Portable wrote. “Una songs no dey market again, na fight una dey use do promotion. Let’s forget fake promotions, I get hit songs. Portable is bigger than them. Who is big is big…”
The singer continued, emphasizing his independence from the drama. “Me, I no dey for Davido. Me, I no dey for Wizkid. I dey for myself. That’s why I dey for those who dey for me,” he added, underlining his self-sufficiency and loyalty to his supporters.
Despite Davido opting to stay silent, Wizkid did not relent, even extending his verbal assault to include members of Davido’s family.
Portable’s comments appear to criticize the ongoing dispute as a distraction from genuine music creation. By portraying himself as detached from the feud and focused on his own career, he aims to position himself as a unique figure within the Nigerian music scene—one who is not reliant on industry politics for publicity.
