Former beauty queen, Powede Awujo, has advised Christians, to desist from mocking churches and testimonies.
Her warning comes after videos of members of a popular church, ‘The Lord’s Chosen’, giving testimonies which netizens feel were scripted went viral.
She emphasised that “testimonies beget testimonies,” warning that engaging with activities that ridicule miracles fosters disbelief among believers.
Awujo further remarked that if Jesus Christ turned water into wine in this era, many Christians would have gone on social media to dispute it.
Her tweet: “Two days ago, the Holy Spirit told me something that in my human mind I wanted to dismiss impulsively because it felt unreal and immediately He chastised me and told me this: “Don’t be so woke that your spiritual senses are asleep.” I repented immediately.
“If you’re like me and you find yourself doubting some things God has told you because you think they defy logic, please repent today. He Himself created logic and determines what is logical. One of the synonyms of logical is “natural”. Don’t be too smart or too logical to receive the supernatural. If it was during this era Jesus turned water to wine, alot of us that didn’t witness the wedding physically would have gone on social media to dispute it.
“While you’re on a campaign to call out and make jest of supposedly fake testimonies, take heed that you do not begin to doubt the real ones, because a day will come that you will need a testimony that sounds like a lie.
