Like she who lasts laugh that laughs the best, Ms Chidinma Onwe Adetshina has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2024.

This happens weeks after she was disqualified in South Africa based on her Nigerian heritage.

She  was born to a Nigerian father, has a Mozambique mother while she was raised in Soweto.

She was then confronted with stiff opposition by those who felt she was not qualified to be Miss South Africa since she is not a South African.

But on Sunday, August 31, rejection turned into victory for her as she beat 24 other contestants to clinch the coveted crown at the pageant which took place at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos State.

Africa Fact Zone revealed this in a video post on X Saturday night.

“Chidimma Vanessa Adetshina has emerged as Miss Universe Nigeria 2024,” it posted.

According to Pop Pulse, she will be representing the country in Mexico at the global stage.

It posted, “She’ll be representing Nigeria at the Miss Universe grand finale in Mexico this November. Congratulations, Chidimma.”

The South African based media entertainment channel confirmed the victory in a post on its X account, #Pop_PulseZa

“This crown is not just for beauty; it’s a call for unity,” She stated after she was crowned.
