Manchester City have agreed to bring Ilkay Gundogan back to the club after his 2023 departure.
City lost Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona last year but now the midfielder is returning on a free transfer.
Gundogan left Manchester City after captaining the club to The Treble and was one of the best players in Spain last year.
However, owing to the club’s financial difficulties, Gundogan was told he could leave.
City’s maverick manager Pep Guardiola was keen on a reunion given how close he was to Gundogan and despite big proposals, especially from Qatar, Gündogan is back to City until June 2025.
