The appetite of a Nigerian immigration officer for dirty tips has landed him a big embarrassment and sanction.

Many, like him, make airports a little hell for travellers who want to come in and go in peace be demanding ‘something’ day and night.

Now, the Nigerian Immigration Service, Okpravero Ufuoma, has been suspended indefinitely, after a video of him asking a tourist to find him ‘’something’’ made the rounds on social media.

As ‘Linda Ikeji’ earlier reports, the video showed the officer stationed at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos, ask what the tourist had for him. When the tourist said he did not have money, officer Ufuoma who didn’t know he was being filmed, replied ‘’Common.”

‘’If it comes from you, I am happy with anything” Ufuoma added.

The tourist then said that he had his card with him, suggesting that they could get some cash probable via a POS or an ATM.

‘’Give me some money and I will appreciate it,” Ufuoma responded

Reacting to the video, the NIS in a statement released today said Ufuoma’s actions did not reflect the values and ethics of professionalism upheld by the NIS.

It added that Ufuoma has been indefinitely suspended pending the outcome of disciplinary procedures which are in accordance with the law and Public Service rules. See letter:
