There was a drama at the Murtala Muahammed International Airport, Lagos, on Saturday as an angry woman openly tore to pieces her husband’s passport.

Some erroneously refer the travelling document to ‘international passport’ but experts say ‘international’ is redundant in the expression.

Both had just arrived the country alongside their children.

The shocking act, which attracted officials and other sympathisers, appeared to be a climax of a conflict that had also manifested on the flight, according to a co-passenger.

As ‘Linda Ikeji’ reports, the woman destroyed the husband’s passport and proceeded to disrespect him in front of a crowd at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos State.

It adds (stet): In a video shared online, someone is seen confronting the woman about tearing her husband’s passport but the wife was not remorseful.

“Na me tear am,” she replied, then added, “Na your own?”

The torn pieces of the passport can be seen scattered on the floor.

Customs officers, airport staff, and passengers are seen observing the incident.

After a while, the wife orders her children to follow her while she tells her husband, “If you want to sleep there, you sleep there.”

She then leaves with her son and daughter.
