Former President Donald Trump has narrated his experience during the attack on him at Saturday’s rally.
He said he was shot at and felt the bullet invade his body.
“I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realised then what was happening,” he said in a post on his Truth Social platform.
The attack occurred shooting incident at his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Meanwhile, law enforcement officials said the shooting at the rally is being investigated as an attempted assassination of the former president.
Trump also acknowledged that someone got killed during the incident.
He added, “I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of law enforcement, for their rapid response.
“It is incredible that such an act can take place in our country.”
Meanwhile, Trump’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., said he spoke to his father on the phone and “he is in great spirits.”
“He will never stop fighting to save America, no matter what the radical left throws at him,” Trump Jr. said in a statement.
