Football Superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has stated how sorry for the fans he was after he missed a penalty kick in Portugal’s round of 16 game against Slovenia.
He did a fantastic kick in the tension-soaked game but Slovenia’s keeper, Jan Oblak , was more superb in the way he parried the shot.
With the miss, Portugal blew a golden chance of beating the opponents during extra time, with the game ending with a penalty shootout.
He, however, redeemed his image as he scored the first kick, while his men also followed suit four times.
Slovenia lost all the three they took.
In a post-match interview, he said, “I was sorry for the fans. I’ll always give my best for this shirt, whether I miss it or not. And I’ll do this my whole life. You have to take responsibility.”
